My rockstar wife and I had a chance to visit Artomatic just outside DC tonight (which really deserves a post of its own — for now, suffice it to say it’s 11 floors and 1,000+ artists in one building scheduled for demolition at the end of June).
There’s lots to say about the event, but I had to share this one great find. The cartooned paintings of David Hagen were clear standouts. He uses acrylic Sharpies and flat, smart colors to bring these great little pieces to life.
Do yourself a favor and check out his work. Better yet, go to Artomatic and see it in person. You’ll be glad you did.
