Big hat tip to @thispeterlewis for this two-for-one deal. Check out the beautiful photography on his site and also here. But check out his SITE, by Grid/plane. How beautiful is that navigation? Crazy beautiful, that’s how.

How have we not already talked about the goodness that is Sam Bosma?
Props to Illustration Age for reminding me about Sam. Things to love about the guy:
- Character design that doesn’t fall into an easy eastern/western categorization
- Muted, thoughtful color palette
- Beautiful line work
- Emotional composition
Too much goodness not to share more. Dive into his site for piles of the stuff.

Just the other day I posted about my years-long love of the Brainstormer wheel of Andrew Bosley. What I didn’t expect was for Andrew himself to see my post and leave a comment. When I dug further, I discovered that not only does Andrew cut a mean creative-block-killing-Flash-tool, the man is knock-down illustrator to boot!
You need to go check out his concept art. It’s such terrific stuff! His work as that hard-meets-soft dimensionality that I love … the kind where you feel like the characters he draws have a real weight and texture to them. And as for his illustrations — just tell me that one of the girl in the blue shaft of light isn’t amazing, I dare you.
Turns out he has much more to be proud of than just his Brainstormer wheel. Keep up the good work, Andrew!
[UPDATE: Andrew was kind enough to answer an email I'd sent him privately, and shared a better link to view his work. You can see his portfolio looking shiny and his blog at bosleyart.com]

For a fan of Kate Beaton and Emily Carroll like myself, there is absolutely no excuse for not loving the work of Andrea Kalfas.

The work of Daniel Danger reminds me of longtime favorite Dan McCarthy, but more cinematic, with beautiful, half-told stories.
(Sheesh, Hi-Fructose magazine has Daniel and Andrew Hem in the same issue. They clearly know what’s up.)
