“Accidental” “art”

This isn’t accidental and it isn’t art. I arranged all those squares (the white ones) and made copies (the blue ones) as part of a project here at work. Then, going back, I noticed that there was a really interesting energy and saved it, flipped the white upside down to create a kind of reflection effect, and framed it in a certain amount of white.

It doesn’t “mean” anything, but it didn’t happen completely randomly. I made half the original pattern, saw it and decided to preserve it. So I don’t think it’s either accidental or art. Maybe a better term would be “observed aesthetics.”

Anyway, there it is.

  1. I love this kind of observed energy in things. You weren’t thinking about it when you were doing it, but I think it speaks to the organization you can see in nature. We don’t usually recognize that consciously, but its fun to try to recognize it!
